
Dr. Sonja Chu, C.Psych.
Psychologist
Dr. Chu works with adults and offers psychotherapy for a range of psychosis, mood, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, and trauma related disorders. She centres her clients’ experiences and ensures empathy, warmth, and collaboration are at the heart of the therapy experience. She provides evidence-based treatments primarily using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and integrative approach.
Dr. Chu completed her PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Toronto Scarborough and her doctoral residency at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH). In addition to her work in private practice, she is a staff psychologist in the SJHH Schizophrenia and Community Integration Service and holds an assistant faculty position with McMaster University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences.
