Dr. Jennifer Carey, Psy.D., C.Psych

Psychologist

Dr. Jennifer Carey is a clinical psychologist who provides evidence-based treatment using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. She has experience treating concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties.

A central part of Dr. Carey’s work is the belief that the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of meaningful change. She strives to create a space where clients feel understood, respected, and genuinely supported. Her style is compassionate, collaborative, and direct, and she works to tailor evidence-based interventions to each client’s unique goals to reduce suffering, build resilience, and improve overall quality of life.

Dr. Carey received her Psy.D. from Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. She completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.

Before moving to Toronto, Dr. Carey worked in a range of clinical settings, including a community mental health clinic, a juvenile day treatment program, an anxiety specialty clinic, and an academic training centre. These experiences have provided her with a broad foundation for supporting individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds.
