Sofija Lavrinsek, M.A.

Psychology Resident

Sofija (she/they) works with adults and provides assessment and treatment for a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorders, trauma and stressor related disorders, body-image issues, illness-related disorders, and life stressors. She works primarily from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, incorporating skills from other therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as appropriate. Sofija is committed to creating a non-judgmental and safe space to help clients work toward their goals and create a meaningful life. Sofija is particularly interested in working individuals from 2SLGTBQIA+communities.

Sofija is currently completing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University. She has completed clinical training at St. Michael’s Hospital, the Ontario Correctional Institute, and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, and the HIV Prevention Lab at Toronto Metropolitan University.

Sofija is currently supervised by Dr. Daniel Peluso and Dr. Noah Lazar.
