Maura O’Keefe is a registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and holds a Masters of Social Work from The University of Toronto (2000). She has 20 years of experience in providing individual therapy for adults struggling with a range of mental health concerns and life stressors, including anxiety and depression, relationship and interpersonal challenges, confidence issues, life stage transitions and grief/loss. Maura has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based approaches, Interpersonal Therapy, trauma therapy, perinatal/reproductive mental health, and grief counselling.
Maura has worked as a therapist in mental health programs at The Center for Addiction and Mental Health, Women’s College Hospital, and at the Toronto Metropolitan University student counselling center. In addition, she has held clinical leadership and educator roles in which she has supervised therapists and social work students, and has also developed mental health programs.
Using a person-centered and evidence-based approach, Maura prioritizes creating a warm and supportive therapeutic relationship where clients can explore their concerns and achieve the healing and change they hope to see.
