Kathleen Stewart, M.A.
Kathleen (Katie) provides assessment and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for anxiety difficulties (including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobia, panic disorder, agoraphobia, health anxiety), mood difficulties (major depressive disorder), obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Katie also has training in mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioural therapy. Katie takes a values-based approach to treatment, helping clients to achieve their treatment goals in a way that is consistent with their values.
Katie is currently completing her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Ryerson University. Her doctoral research is examining cognitive and emotional reactions to uncertainty in individuals with chronic worry. Katie has completed training at St. Michael’s Hospital (Department of Family and Community Medicine), St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic), and Sunnybrook Hospital (Frederick W. Thompson Anxiety Disorders Centre). She also has also worked at the Cognition and Psychopathology Lab and the Investigating Methods to Prevent, Assess, and Care for Trauma Lab at Ryerson University.
