Dr. Carly Brescacin, C.Psych.
Dr. Carly Brescacin is a registered clinical and health psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario working with adults with a broad range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, panic, obsessions and compulsions, eating concerns, navigating stressors and transitions, and coping with acute and chronic illnesses.
Dr. Brescacin completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology prior to specializing in health psychology during residency training at Henry Ford Health System where she provided psychological assessment and treatment in general outpatient services, Internal Medicine, and the Transplant Institute. She also holds a position in the Diabetes Care and Research Clinic at McMaster University Medical Centre.
Dr. Brescacin has a particular interest in integrative healthcare and the relationship between physical and emotional health. In caring for her clients, Dr. Brescacin works within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy framework in addition to drawing from Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and theories. Dr. Brescacin’s practice is inclusive and strives to help her clients feel supported, empowered, and capable of making healthy choices for themselves throughout their lives.
